General Organization
The Coast Guard Auxiliary operates on four organizational levels: Flotilla, Division, District/Region, and National.

Flotilla - The flotilla is the basic Auxiliary unit, comprised of at least 15 qualified members. Flotillas are headed by a Commander (FC).

Division - Flotillas are grouped into Divisions, which provide administrative, training and supervisory support. Divisions are headed by a Division Captain (DCP), and Division Vice-Captain (VCP).

District/Region - Flotillas and divisions are organized in districts comparable to Coast Guard Districts, and provide administrative and supervisory support, and promote district commander and national Auxiliary committee policies.


Who We Are. Our History, Mission, Purpose
We are here to assist the U.S. Coast Guard in performing Coast Guard functions, powers, duties, roles, missions or operations authorized by law; to promote safety; to foster a wider knowledge of rules and regulations governing the operation of watercraft.  The Coast Guard Auxiliary was created by Congress in 1941, when the name was changed from the Reserve, to the Coast Guard Auxiliary.  We number over 35,000 strong.

This Flotilla has been active in the greater Vallejo and Delta area for many years.


Meeting Time & Location
Flotilla 51 meets at the Vallejo Yacht Club the second Thursday of the month at 1930 hrs (7:30pm).

Who is Eligible and How We Serve You
After you have taken one of the boating classes and completed the new member training forum, an application, and paid your dues you will be an auxiliaries.  Your must be 17 years of age, a United States citizen, and never have been convicted of a felony.
Free member classes including Navigation, Radio Communication, Seamanship, Weather, Patrolling, and Vessel Examination to name a few.
