A
few words from our Personnel Services Officer...
As the Personnel Services Officer my program consists of the 3R's:
1.
Recruit
2.
Retain
3.
Revitalize
We are called Team Coast Guard and as an auxiliarist we enjoy certain honors, among them wearing the uniform and proudly flying the auxiliary blue ensign. We show our pride by wearing uniforms, although not a must, you must wear a uniform to:
1.
Instruct
2.
Vessel safety checks
3.
Boat crew program
Every member is expected to participate in some program:
· patrols
· chart updating
· training
· recruiting
· public affairs
· vessel safety checks
· Fourth Cornerstone
As a flotilla member, every auxiliarist is expected to attend flotilla meetings. We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 7:30 p.m., at the Vallejo Yacht Club. Our leaders are elected by the flotilla members. If you join the auxiliary, you have the opportunity to serve in many positions, most of which are appointed by the elected flotilla commander.
Like other organizations, we have a modest annual membership fee and other costs such as:
1.
Social functions
2.
Uniform costs
3.
Safety equipment for water operations
Most of these costs are tax deductible.
We are always looking for dedicated people who are interested in assisting the Coast Guard through auxiliary membership. We can make a difference! We invite you to come aboard and be part of the team Coast Guard.
